SUBJECT:

PROPOSED ENFORCEMENT ACTION ON AP&L We have reviewed the proposed enforcement package on the violation that occurred at Arkansas Power and Light Company's Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit I related to an irrproperly set pressurizer code safety valve. The setpoint error of approximately 500 psi above the designated setpoint is believed to have been present during plant operation for part of 1985 and most of 1986.

We concur with the proposed categorization of the violation as a Severity Level III. We also concur with the proposed mitigation of the base civil penalty.
