SECY-86-337 - Recuest for Hearing by Advanced Medical Systems, Inc.
The Commission, by a 5-0 vote, approved an order responding to a request from Advanced Medical Systems, Inc. for a hearing on violations alleged in an October 10, 1986 order issued by the Director of the Office of Inspection and Enforcement.
The order grants tne hearing which is to be held before an Administrative Law Judge to be appointed by the Chief Adminis-trative Judge of the ASLBP.
The order also authorizes the Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board to exercise the authority and perform the review function which would otherwise be performed by the Commission.
(Subsequently, on November 26, 1986, the Secretary signed the Order.)
You should also examine ways to streamline the process of responding to requests for hearings and advise the Commission of options and any recommendations you have.
