Dear Mr. Thorne:
Enclosed please find a request from Self-Powered Lighting, Inc. to amend export license XB001181 to authorize the export of an additional 260,000 curies of tritium.
Before taking action on this amendment request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the proposed amendment meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
The licensee has requested expedited handling of this request in order to allow an additional 60,000 curies of tritium to be exported in November and December of this year.

We hereby urgently request that our Licenso #XB 001181 be amended to show exports of tritium from 240,000 curies to 380,000 curies per year to meet our latest production requirements.
Because (2) addikional shipments of 30,000 curien each are needed for November and December of this year, we also request that we be exempted from the (15) day waiting period normally required.

any help you can give us to obtain approval of this amend-ment within our time limitations.
