Reference:

Letter from J.R. Wojnarowski to H.R.

Denton dated October 6, 1986.

(

Dear Mr. Marley:

The purpose of this letter is to provide you and your staff with a current status of Reg. Guide 1.97 item A.3, Drywell Pressure Instrumentation.

The work to be performed as part of this commitment involves the replacement of scales, recalibration of corresponding instruments and EQ qualification of transmitters by_ similarity. There are no hardware changes involved. Our most recent status of Reg. Guide 1.97 commitments was provided in the above referenced letter.

The new recorder scale has been received at the Station which should permit the recalibration of necessary instruments by June 15, 1987.

However, since this is a post-accident monitoring system as specified by the Technical Specifications, the final change cannot be made until a Technical Specification change is prepared and approved. The change requires a revision to Table 3.2-4 of.DPR-30.

The Technical Specification presently specifies a range of 0-75 psig for this instrument. The proposed change necessary to implement the recalibration is -5 to 70 psig.
