Exercise Report for the December 3,1986, Exercise of the Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP)
Plans for the Farley Nuclear Power Plant Attached is a ccpy of the Exercise Report for the December 3,1986, full participation joint exercise of the offsite REP plans for the Farley Nuclear Power Plant. % e Farley Nuclear Power Plant is located in the eastern part of Houston County, Alabama, near the Chattahoochee River.
Houston and Early Counties, both located in the 10-mile plume emergency planning zone (EPZ), along with the States of Alabama and Georgia fully participated in the exercise.
We exercise report, dated February 25, 1987, was prepared by the Region IV staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The report does not identify any deficiencies resulting frcm this exercise. W ere were identified, however, two areas requiring corrective actions and several areas recxxnmended for improvement. FEMA Region IV staff will furnish a copy of this exercise report to the States of Georgia and Alabama and will obtain a schedule of corrective actions fran Alabama. W e Region will assure empletion by the State of the necessary corrective actions.
Based on the results of the exercise, there continues to be reasonable assurance that appropriate protective measures can be implemented by the offsite jurisdictions around the Farley Nuclear Power Plant to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emrgency.
herefore, the 44 CFR 350 approval granted by FEMA on March 11, 1981, will remain in effect.
