Docket No. 50-352-OLA (TS Iodine)

Gentlemen:

Today we received a copy of the Daard's Order, dated l

May 19, 1987, stating that my letter of May 7,

1987 to the l

Chairman of the Panel would be treated as a

motion encompassing both the petition filed by Mr.

Anthony on August 25, 1986 and a petition filed by Mr.

Romano on September 4,

1986.

Both petitions relate to the same amendment of the operating license for Limerick Generating Station, Unit 1.

Today we also received in the mail a copy of the memorandum from the Secretary to the Chairman, dated May 20, 1987, referring a request for hearing submitted by Robert L. Anthony to the Commission on August 25, 1986.

On May 13,

1987, we roccived the order for the Establishment of Atcmic Safety And Licensing Board.

Accordingly, on May 20, 1987, before receipt of the Board's Order, we filed on behalf of Licensco Philadelphia Electric 0706000100 070521 1$@

Shaldon J. Wolfo, Chairman Dr. Richard F. Colo Dr. Patcr A. Morris May 21, 1987 Page 2 Company a formal answer opposing the request for hearing by Mr.

Romano, the representative of the Air and Water Pollution Patrol.

We did not include a response to Mr.

Anthony's petition in our answer because, at the time, his separate petition had not yet been referred to the Licensing Board Panel by the Secretary.

For the record, we expect to file tomorrow a separate answer to the petition filed by Mr. Anthony, which will largely incorporate the factual background and legal discussion contained in our answer to AWPP's petition.

With this letter, we are hereby serving a copy of our answer to AWPP's petition upon Mr. Anthony as well.

Sincerely,
