Dear Sir:

Subject:

Detailed Control Room Design Review (DCRDR) Pre-Implementation Audit By letter dated March 31, 1986 [ Reference d)), Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation submitted a Detailed Control Room Design Review Summary Report for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant providing a final disposition of the previously unresolved study areas as well as an updated list of planned modifications and a sche-dule for their implementation.

During the period July 28, 1986 through August 1, 1986, Mr. Dennis Serig, repre-senting the NRR Electrical Instrumentation and Control Systems Branch, conducted an extensive pre-implementation audit of our DCRDR organization, process and documentation at our facilities in Vernon and Brattleboro.

It is our understanding that the infor-mation on file at Vermont Yankee and reviewed by Mr. Serig was found acceptable during this audit.

However, earlier correspondence may not reflect information of particular interest to the current NRC Review Team.

In addition, no correspondence exists which presents an accurate status of completed DCRDR activities or implementation design changes made since our July 1985 submittal, Reference b).

At the suggestion of Mr.

Serig, we have enclosed two volumes containing the information reviewed during the pre-implementation audit.

We trust that this information is acceptable; however, should you have any questions or require additional information concerning this subject, please contact us.

Very truly yours, VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER CORPORATION
