r-As you requested, I am enclosing a copy of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) policy on conflict of interest.
I hope it will be helpful to you and the Yakima Indian Nation in the review of their conflict of interest policy.
I am also enclosing a copy of the Federal Register Notice and the draft solicitation package prepared in connection with NRC's plan to develop a Federally Funded Rese. arch and Development Center (FFRDC) which will eventually be the primary source of outside technical assistance and research for Nuclear Waste Policy Act mandated programs in the high-level waste area.
It is expected that the establishment of an independent facility to carry out studies exclusively for NRC should, to a great degree, free us from the most common sources of conflict of interest.
