ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL EMERCENCY CART INVENTORY (Primary Responsibility - Radiatiou-Chemistry Director)
A.
PURPOSE The purpose of this procedure is to describe the actions necessary to inventory the St. Joseph Hospital radiation emergency cart.
B.

PREREQUISITES Ncne.

PRECAUTIONS None.
E.
LIMITATIONS AND ACTIONS An inventory of the hospital emergency c~ art shall be made after each
~'O use of the hospital cart and at least once in each quarter of the year.
F.
PROCEDURE 1.
Station GSEP Coordinator will forward a copy of this procedure to appropriate Radiation-Chemistry Foremen for completion.
2.
Call the hospital and arrange a convenient time for the
".nventory.
(Refer to Station's Directer's Phone List in EPIP l
Manual).
3.
Collect the following items to be taken to the hospital for inventory:
a.
One (1) recently calibrated CP.
b.
One (1) copy of the hospital inventory checklist.
Five (5) D cell batteries (blannually).
c.

One (1) recently calibrated GM.

Twelve (12) thermoluminescent dosimetry (TLD).
f.
Twelve (12) finger ring film badges.

At the hospital:
a.
Replace the GM and CP with the recently calibrated ones.
RECORD new calibration dates on the attached Inventory of Radiation Disaster Cart sheet, b.
Replace the old cells with the new ones (biannually),
c.
Replace all old TLD's and finger rings with new ones and ensure the expiration date of the new TLD's and finger rings exceeds the next inventory date (Note: the procedure is completed quarterly).
d.
Replace the dosimeters (blannually).

using the lists provided in the kit.
