-M The Liquid Radweste System is shown in Figure C 5-3 of the Hanford No. 2 PSAR as Code Class C except for the equipment. drains and floor drains feeding the liquid weste collector tank. These drains.are shown as dashed lines and in the legend in Figure C.5-1 the dashed lines are designated as Code Class D.
This would indicate that Code Class C starts at the Liquid Weste Collector Tanks and the I
Equipment Drains and Floor Drains, which in the referenced letter g
t are called Radweste Collection System, are Code Class D.

and that Radmaste Collection System consisting of the radioactive equipment and floor drain piping, the radioactive equipment and J
floor drain sumps, the sump pumps associated with these sumps and the sump pump discharge piping is classified as Code Class D.
gw The major difference in Code Classes C and D as applied to the Radweste Collection System is in the piping code. Class C involves
^5 ASME III piping whereas Code Class D involves B 31.1-0 piping.
Since the Radweste System is a low pressure system and is located within Seisraic Category 1 structures I feel that Piping Code B 31.1-0 is adequate except in the following areas:

(1) Mill certification for materials (2) liydrotest results (3) Dye penetrant inspection of welds For the reasons outlined above and since the applicant has committed to additional requirements in the areas where we had concerns regarding B 31.1-0 piping code. I reconmend that we concur with the applicant that the R6dwaste Collection System is Code Class D.
