  • e AUG 2 41972 Docket No. 50-397 Note to Files On August 22, 1972, in a meeting with J. Hendrie, G. Lainas, R. Johnson, W. Haass, J. Owsley, and R. Clark, the WPPSS proposal to install a Containment Atmosphere Dilution System (CAD) as the primary means of controlling combustible gases in the Hanford 2 containment atmosphere was discussed.

It was concluded that the proposal was not acceptable for a plant in the Hanford stage of design (C.P. application).

I agreed to call the applicant and to inform him that his proposed system is not acceptable as the primary means for controlling combustible gases.

In addition, it was agreed that the applicant should be requested to amend the informatior.

submitted in Amendment No. 9 withdrawing the CAD system proposal and commiting to providing his design for a combustible gas control system for our review as a post wnstruction permit item.
