W.AP 2 0 1374 Docket No. 50-397 gm, Willima Massar, Assistant Chief Hearing Counsel WASHINGTON PUBLIC POWER SUPPY SYSTEM - WFPSS NUCLEAR PROJECT NO. 2 (PORMERLY: HANFORD NO. 2)
WPPSS letter, notarized October 5, 1973, advised that the reactor name had been changed fron Hanford No. 2 Nuclear Power Plant to WPPSS Nuclear Project No. 2 (WNP-2).
WPPSS did not request an amend.nent to the construction permit changing the facility name, but instead requested that the operating license be issued with the new facility designation "WPPSS Nuclear Project No. 2".
WPPSS indicated that all correspondence in the interim will use both name designations.
I have enclosed a copy of the incor.ing WPPSS le'.ter for your information and use.

This is to advise you that the liashington Public Power Supply System, has, for the sake of consistency with the nomenclature of its other nuclear projects, changed the official name of the Hanford I:o. 2 fiuclear Power Plant to "!-lPPSS Nuclear Project f!o. 2".
This prcject : y also sccetimes be referred to as "!!!!P-2" in some of our documents.
However, for your convenience, all correspondence and other filings with the AEC will carry the legend:
"l!PPSS i'uclear Project Ho. 2 (forcerly Hanford 2)".

Although there is no need to change the name of the facility as shown in CPPP.-93, we do request that the operating license be issued with the new designation:
