1 Docket No. 50-397 M 2 91972 Mr. Harry Eramer, Chairman Benten County Board of Conniesioners Court House Prosser, Usshington 99350 Dear Mr. Kramers The Atomic Energy Conunission has granted an exemption from the require-monts ef AEC regulation 10 CFR 550.10(b) to the Washington Public Power Supply System for certain site preparation activities involving the Hanford Number Two nuclear plant prior to a decision regarding the issuance of a construction permit. This exemption was requested by the applicant in a letter dated February 19, 1972, supplemented by a letter dated March 29, 1972.
Copies of the above-eentioned letters, a document entitled " Discussion and Findings by the Directorate of Licensing, U. S. Atomic Er. orgy Com-mission Relating to a Request for an Exemption From Licensing for Car-tain Site Preparation Activities at the Hanford Number Two Nuclear Plant Frior to the Completion of the NZPA Environmental Review, AEC Doekat No.
50-397," and the Comunission's letter to Washington Public Power Supply System granting the exemption are enclosed for your information. Also enclosed is a copy of a related notice which has been sent to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication.
