It is the position of the Structural Engineering Branch, Directorate of Licensing that: The design criteria and design methods for pipe break outside containment should be in accordance with Document (B),
prepared by the Structural Engineering Branch, Directorate of Licensing entitled " Structural Design Criteria for Evaluating the Effects of High-Energy Pipe Breaks in Category I Structures outside the Contain-ment" dated June 1973.
Thereforc, 1.
Provide a statement that the design criteria and the design methods
. for the Category I structures are in accordance with Document (B) t cited above, and 2.
Include a discussion of ductility factors and their use for members under_ combined loading.
