ULNRC-1409 DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT EXEMPTION REQUEST FROM APPENDIX A TO 10CFR20 TO ALLOW CREDIT FOR USE OF A RADIOIODINE FACTOR FOR GMR-I FILTER CANISTERS

- 2) ULNRC-1368 dated August 29, 1986 This letter documents information provided to NRC Staff (P.W. O'Connor and R.H.
Serbu) by phone on November 12, 1986 concerning storage of GMR-I canisters.
The following wording will be placed in procedure HDP-ZZ-08000, " Respiratory Protection Program:"
GMR-I canisters will be stored in the Callaway Plant Warehouse in Level C or better storage areas as designated in procedure WSP-ZZ-00002, " Storeroom Storage and Control of Material, Components, and Equipment."
As indicated in our response to your request for additional information (Reference 2), some GMR-I canisters will be moved from warehouse storage to temporary in-plant storage areas just prior to use.
However, these temporary storage areas will only be for supplies necessary for immediate use, not long term storage.
Please contact us if additional information is required.
