Background:
Region III received two unsigned letters (one envelope was marked "From:
Bergen Patterson") containing the following allegations:
1.
S&L applied the wrong concept in evaluating the Piping Clearance Report (PCR) for the Byron and Braidwood Stations.
2.
S&L did lots of wrong concept hand calculations for anchor load (as built) to evaluate the pipe stress.
RECOMMENDED ACTIONS Item 1:
Review the PCR evaluation conducted by S&L.
Item 2:
Review pipe stress evaluations conducted by S&L for Braidwood/ Byron.
Inspection to be conducted at S&L on February 25 and 26, 1986 l
