Dear Mr. McCorkle:
Our client, KFA, Juelich, West Germany, asks us to request already new extension of the route approvals from Wilmington, N.
C.
and Portsmouth, Va, presently expiring 12/31/86.
In addition, they ask also for a route approval from Savannah, Ga.
to Aiken, S.C.
Since the shipping lines approved and authorized for the Ports of Portsmouth and Wilmington call on several other European countries and U.S. ports prior to docking at above mentioned approved ports, Savannah is the ideal port with a direct sailing from Germany to Savannah, with no other intermediate stops.
Hapag Lloyd SSL calls at Garden City Terminal outside of the city of Savannah, and according to McGill Trucking, they carry regularly class UF6 on a routing not touching the city limits.
