ADVANCED BOILING WATER REACTOR (ABWR)

General Electric will be filing an application in the near future for a Design Approval and Certification of its Advanced Boiling Water Reactor' design. My staff has begun to discuss the review and certification process with GE, and both parties believe that it would be useful to discuss the security, safe-guards, and sabotage aspects of the design with knowledgeable members of your staff.

I therefore request that you' assign a specific contact in your 4

division to work with the ABWR Project Manager, R. Caruso (X29475) through the ABWR review. We would like to have a meeting with GE, to discuss security criteria, soon.
