NOV 181986 NOTE T0:

File FROM:

Marvin R. Peterson, Assistant Director Export / Import and International Safeguards Office of International Programs

SUBJECT:

LICENSE XUO8634 On November ll, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Pittsburgh, requested an export license for the export of one fuel assembly, containing 420 kilograms of depleted uranium, to Westinghouse Canada, Ltd., for thermal stress evaluation and return to the U.S.

The Westinghouse Canada open window for performing the stress evaluation requires that the fuel assembly be shipped from Columbia by November 24.

Because it would not be possible to meet this required shipping schedule otherwise, the usual waiting period of 15 days for PDR posting is waived pursuant to 10 CFR 110.10.
