(a) May 13, 1987 Atomic Safety Licensing Board Decision

Dear Mr. Murley:

Reference (a) provided the Atomic safety Licensing Board (AsLB) initial decision on emergency planning issues for staidwood station. The decision stipulated changes that need to be made to the Braidwood Station Public Information Booklets (FIB's). -

In response to reference (a), Coenonwealth Rdison will address the following in the next revision of the Braidwood Station PIB's:

(a) the physical characteristics of a radioactive plume; (b) the significance of wind speed and direction in the novament of the plume; and (c) the reistionship between weather conditions and the selection of optimum evacuation routes i

4 A.B. Davis May la, 1987 Coumonwealth Edison estimates that the printing and distribution of the 7taidwood PIB's will be completed within approximately twelve (12) weeks. This schedule includes approximately four (4) weeks to allow for development and appropriate regulatory review of the specific language changes by the NRC and FEMA. Connonwealth Bdison will continue to closely coordinate the resolution of this matter with your Baergency Preparedness staff.

Please address any questions concerning this matter to this affect.

Very truly yours,
