August 21, 1984 Meeting netween John Seeders and J. W. Gieseker I
i The meeting was requested by Mr. Seeders. I began the meeting by introducing myself and indicating that I had recently joined the Construction Department and was substituting for the Lead Electrical who was on vacation.
Mr. Seeders introduced himself and indicated that he was a two year employee with the L. K. Comstock Q.C. Department. He indicated that he had a good record in the two years that he had been with Comstock and stressed that he had developed a good working relationship with his fellow employees including i
Q.C. personnel, the Engineering Department, and other Comstock Management.
When asked what his concerns were, Mr. Seeders indicated that he wanted to inform Ceco of harassment that was being placed on himself and other Q.C.
personnel by Comstock Management, specifically Q.C. Supervision.
Mr. Seeders l
asked me if I was aware of this problem and I responded that I had read a letter written by him the previously Friday (Attachment A).
Mr. Seeders indicated that the letter was the cu11mination of a series of events that lead to his decision to write the letter. He indicated that the harassment was a relatively recent problem that was occurring in the Comstock Q.C. Department and that it could probably be related to the increased pressure that was currently being placed on Q.C. Management and was, in-turn, being placed on Q.C. Personnel. Mr. Seeders stated that he was very concerned about his job and that he needed a job to support his family. He stated that he thought he was going to loose his job as a result of the letter, but indicated that the He also problem had progressed to a point where the letter had to be written.
stated that the events outlined in his letter could be " backed up" by a number l
of other Q.C. personnel in the department and requested that some of them be interviewed also. Mr. Seeders stressed again that he was not the type of i
employee to make these type of allegations unfounded, and that the cuality of He also his work had never been questioned by the Comstock Management.
stressed that he would never falsify any documentation. He indicated that the recent problems with Q.C. inspector certifications, as well as, personnel on vacation, had lef t a minimum number of personnel to do inspections and placed an unusual amount of work on those remaining inspectors. Mr. Seeders indicated that his immediate supervisor, Mr. Saklak, had assigned him work to When do and he felt that the ti:ne given to perfer:s the work was r.ot adequate.
Mr. Seeders told Mr. Saklak this, Mr. Saklak's response was that he didn't care what the problems were he just wanted the work to be performed.
Mr.
Seeders indicated that, for the two year period that he worked for Comstock, he did not feel that his work load was excessive and, in fact, had worked with Mr. Saklak for a majority of the time and had no problems with him as a Supervisor.

inform CBCo management of this. I indicated to Mr. Seeders that he was a employee of the L. K. Comstock organization and that commonwealth Edison had to honor that relationship. I also indicated to Mr. Seeders that I had not i
