PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY'S RESPONSE TO THE ATOMIC SAFETY AND LICENSING BOARD REQUEST FOR TESTING OF DISKETTES FOR ELECTRONIC STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL OF DOCUMENTS I. INTRODUCTION By memorandum and order dated April 30, 1987 (" Order"), the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board directed the parties to mail to the Board, en or before May 12, 1987, a diskette containing textual material in pure ASCII form to test the efficacy of the procedure described in the Order. A diskette containing a sample PGandE document is enclosed in response to the Board's Order. The document selected by PGandE for this test is " Answer of Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Opposition to Motion for Summary Disposition,"

dated January 14, 1987. This document has been converted to pure ASCII form in the format directed by the Board. A hard copy of the data as converted for

' storage on the diskette is also enclosed.

PGandE's comments on the proposed order requiring the filing of documents on diskettes suitable for electronic storage and retrieval will be filed on May IS, 1987.
