STAFFREQUIREMENTS-BRhrfIhGONSTATUSOFINPO ACCREDITATION OF UTILITWTRAINING PROGRAMS, 1:30 P.M., THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30, 1986, COMMIS-SIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, D.C. OFFICE (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission met with representatives of the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) for a briefing on the status of INPO accreditation of utility training programs.
The following representatives of INPO were in attendance:
- Zack T. Pate, President Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO)
- Kenneth A. Strahm, Vice President and Director Training and Education Division INPO and Executive Director National Academy for Nuclear Training Chairman Zech requested that at the next meeting with the Commission INPO should emphasize its plans for the continuum of training and accreditation programs and discuss how INPO's accreditation teams and boards will be functioning in the future.
He also requested that INPO discuss at that future meeting how the training and accreditation programs help improve plant safety and operational performance.
At Commissioner Asselstine's request, INPO promised to provide information to the Commission on the eight training courses that have not been submitted to INPO for review as well as the number of plants that have not yet received accreditation for a single program.
There were no requirements for the staff at this meeting.
