Responsible Branch & Project Manager: LB-2; R. E. Martin Reviewer: J. Halapatz Requested Completion Date: September 1, 1984

, Description of Task: SER Re GDC-51 Compliance

(- s Review Status: Complete The Materials Engineering Branch (MTEB), Division of Engineering, joint

% review of the containment pressure boundary materials of Limerick Gene-rating Station, Units 1 & 2, was conducted with General Electric at San Jose, CA on June 21, 1983 and with Bechtel at San Francisco, CA on ~

June 24, 1983.

3 The review identified the limiting materials of the containment pressure

' boundary and the limiting environmental temperatures placed on these materials under operating, maintenance, testing and postulated accident conditions cited by GDC-51, " Fracture Prevention of Containraent Pressure Boundary." The limiting materials and temperatures were identified in a working paper developed in the review meeting. Based on the review, the applicant was to confirm that the limiting postulated design temperature for each limiting material would be in compliance with the limiting tempera-ture identified by the review.

The applicant has submitted for the Docket the technical basis and related material documentation to supp & t the compliance of Limerick Units 1 & 2 containment pressure boundarf mitrials with GDC-51.
