AFFIDAVIT OF THERESA M. BURLING Now comes Theresa M. Burling who, being duly cautioned and sworn, deposes and says as follows:

1.

That she is an adult resident of Geauga County, Ohio and not under any disability; 2.

That in the sae+" ~ d_ summer of 1986, she personally helped to conduct a 1 private school and I survey of emergency preparedness of seven (5) school districts,/and university branch in Geauga County, for purposes of ascertaining the availability and adequacy of their facilities as " care centers," referred to in the Geauga County Radiological Energency Response Plan; 3.

That the survey included the Notre Dame Acadeny, Cardinal liigh School, Kent State University - Burton, and West Geauga Senior 111, debaol as " primary care centers;" and Cardinal Middle School, Berkshire liigh School, Newbury liigh School, West Geauga Junior High School, Kenston liigh School and Konston Middle Schocol as " alternate care centers."

That 5 of the 7 administrations have had no discussions with the American Red Cross, which the plans state is to operate the centers, and that at least 4 of the school systems have never been contacted, and only one indicated that it had been contacted by the Red Cross; 6.

That 12,891 evacuees are proposed to be housed in these care centers, according to the Ceauga County RERP; 7.

I also have no authority to volunteer the services of any member of the Jefferson Area Local School staff or Board of Education.
