SUBJECT:

DAILY HIGHLIGHT - PETITION REQUESTING REVOCATION OF CP AND DENIAL OF OL FOR WNP-2 On October 18, 1983, The Coalition for Safe Power, filed with the Commission, a petition requesting revocation of the construction permit and denial of an operating license for Washington Public Powcr Supply System Nuclear Project No. 2.

One of the reasons stated is that no 0A/QC program has been consistently implemented at WNP-2 and the failure to do so has resulted in substantial inability to meet the requirements of Appendix A criteria.

In support, the petition also includes affidavit of Mr. Stuart Sandler, a welding engineer, who worked for Burns and Rce (A/E for WNP-2) from April 1978 to May 1979.
