WNP-2 DELAYS IN PREOPERATIONAL AND ACCEPTANCE TESTS In a letter from G. C. Sorensen (WPPSS) to A. Schwencer (NRR/LB-2) dated July 26,1933, WPPSS identified preoperational and acceptance tests to be deferred until after fuel load and provided a schedule'for each test.
Based on the absence of a significant source term (decay heat or radiation) prior to power operation, the tests may be safely delayed provided that they are completed prior to entry into reactor operational condition #2 (Startup).
Since WPPSS did not indicate what wde the plant will be in on a given date, we cannot evaluate the acceptability of the proposed schedule.
We suggest that the delays be approved subject to the condition that the delayed tests must be completed prior to entry into operational condition 2.
It should be noted that delaying some of these tests until after fuel loading will require exceptions to Technical Specifications.
