d MEMORAllDUM FOR: Zoltan R. Rosztoczy, Chief Equipment Qualifications Branch, DE FROM:

M. Srinivasan, Chief Power Systems Branch, DSI

SUBJECT:

SYSTEMS LIST FOR EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATIONS PROGRAM - WNP NO. 2

REFERENCE:

Memorandum from W. V. Johnston to L. S. Rubenstein et al, subject as above, dated April 1,1982 In accordance with the request in the referenced memorandum, we are submitting a list of equipment for the subject plant which is within the Power Systems Branch's area of review responsibility and should be included in the equipment qualifications program.

The enclosed equipment qualifications list responds to item 1 on page 2 of the referenced memorandum. The information requested by Items 2 through 7 does not directly pertain to power systems - related equipment. Since the power systems are supporting systems, any functional requirements for the power systems will be dictated by the process system it supports.

In general, the majority of the power systems - related equipment is outside containment and hence, does not require LOCA environmental qualification. However, those equipment items that perform safety functions should be qualified for the appropriate seismic and environmental conditions to which they may be subjected to assure their required performance under these conditions.
