1.'e uculd like to clarify Question !:o. 371.20.of this list.
In question 371.20, the staff is not requiring the applicant to perforn a soil liquefaction analysis because of the temporary nature of saturation of backfill around or under the safety related building. t!c consider that the postulated circulating water pipe failure would not create saturathn conditions in the backfill that would nake it susceptible to liquefaction.
Therefore, please add the following sentence at the end of Question 371.20 to clarify the question:
"A liquefaction analysis of supporting backfill soil undertthese conditions is not considered necessary by the staff."
