USE OF ASME CODE CASE N-272 FOR THE VIRGIL C.
SU!?iER NUCLEAR STATION, DOCKET NO. 50-395 The Mechanical Engineering Branch has completed its review of the South Carolina Electric and Gas Company request for authorization to use ASME Code Case N-272 for application in the construction of components for the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Docket No. 50-385, as identified in the applicant's letter dated August 20, 1981.
Code Case N-272, dated May.15, 1980, " Compiling Data Report Records", is an acceptable code case and may be used in the construction of components for the Sumer Nuclear Station.until its annulment date January 1,1982. Use of the code case should be documented in the FSAR.

l',emorandum dated June 25, 1981, L. B Higginbotham, IE to R. L. Tedesco, !!RR In your memorandum you made two requests and asked that we advise you of the actions taken. The actions that have been (or will ' e) taken are:
(1) f!RR will include surveillance requirements in the Technical Specifications for the reactor building purge exhaust filter system consistent with Regulatory Guide 1.52.
(2) NRR has requested and the applicant has revised the FSAR so that sections 6.2.5.2.2 and 11.3.6.2 are consistent in the description of the reactor building six-inch purge line.
