360.1 In the March 28, 1978 Unston Coorhysical Rece $cch, Inc. teport ent.itled " Qualitative 1cro...sgnette Evaluation of Structures in the Columbia Plateau and Adjacent Cascade Mountain Area,"

Figure 13 shews several north to northwest trending aeronagnetic i

'linears in the vicinity of Badger Mountain and Jump Off Joe anticline. The Weston report dees not discuss the origin or interpretations of these particular linears. The north ttcnding linear crossing the Columbia River at the junction with the Snake River has an apparent offrat of the raagnetic low defining the Ratticsnake Hills anomaly. Since these accomagnetic linears l

trend toward the WPPSS-2 site, provide an interpretation of these features, including but not limited to the potential for I

their continuation to the north to the near site arca and a-1.

discussion of the fault parameters if such an interpretation is proposed.

360.2 During the review of the Columbia Plateau structures relevant i

to the WPPSS-2 site as discussed in the FSAR, it became

+

apparent that some of the data and discussions prasented were

[

slightly different than that provided in Amendment 23 of the WPPSS 1, 4 PSAR. For example, with regard to the Wallula Gap fault the FSAR states that the "... probable fault movement occurred af ter the. deposition of the Touchet beds, and thus less than 12,000 years ago".

Yet Appendix 2RH.4 of WPPSS 1, 4,

The rSAR, on the other hand, does not dis. cuss this :::2 poet, but questions the existence of the fault and indicates that it could be the cole result of folding.

Picace clarify the orioin of such discrepancias.

Possibly cross refe rcucing KPPSS-1, 4 Anendment 23 could cl.arify the confusion.
