Florida Power and Light Company (Turkey Point)

PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $75,000 i
This is to inform the Comission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars
($75,000) will be issued on or about April 21, 1987 to Florida Power and Light Company. This action is based on two separate NRC identified violations of the Physical Security Plan involving a security guard asleep on duty and an unescorted visitor in a vital area.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforccment action. The Regional Administrator has been authorized by the Director, Office of Enforcement, to sign this action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:
Mailing of Notice April 21, 1987 Telephone Notification of Licensee April 21, 1987 A news release has been prepared and will be issued after the licensee receives the Notice. The State of Florida will be notified.
The licensen has thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
Following NRC evaluation of the response, the civil penalty may be renitted, mitigated, or imposed by Order.
