BOMB THREAT l

At S:24 a.m., April 20, 1987, a caller stated to the Monroe County 911 Police Emergency l

Notification dispatcher that:

"I am on my way to Ginna with a truck bomb and I mean it; you I

know I mean it".

Monroe County is adjacent to Wayne County, the location of Ginna.

The site security organization was notified by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department at 5:27 a.m. and an Unusual Event was declared at 5:53 a.m.

The licensee has posted security personnel on the slant access roads and is verifying identi-fication prior to granting access to the plant. Tac Wayne County Sheriff's Department and th3 New York State Police are also patrolling the area.

The NRC received notification of the event via the ENS at 6:13 a.m.

The FBI was notified of the event by the licensee. The NRC Infonnation Assessment Team and the State of New York i

have been notified.

This PNS is issued for infonnation only and is current as of 8:00 a.m., April 20, 1987. No j

additional action is planned by the NRC at this time.
