TROJAN NUCLEAR PLANT Verification of Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Operating Reactors, Unresolved Safety Issue (USI) A-46 (Generic Letter 87-02)

On March 24, 1987 Portland General Electric (PCE) received a copy of Generic Letter 87-02 dealing with the verification of seismic adequacy of mechanical and electrical equipment in operating reactors. Generic Letter 87-02 required a written response within 60 days from its receipt.

Inasmuch as PGE did not receive this letter until March 24, approximately two weeks after other licensecs, it is proposed that our response to this letter be submitted by May 23, 1987. This proposed delay in our response was discussed with Mr. Chan of your staff.
