SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR REGION II LICENSE TERMINATION SURVEY OF THE.
VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE FINAL REPORT ON DECOMMISSIONING Enclosed is the Virginia' Polytechnic Institute (VPI) report entitled " Virginia Tech Argonant Reactor Facility Decomissioning Final Report". Also enclosed is the dismantlement and disposition (D&D) order (51 FR 40098).
We request that Region II conduct the necessary "tennination survey" to verify-that residual radioactivity and contamination levels comply with Table I of Reg Guide 1.86 and the exposure limit of 5 pR/hr above background at one meter.
Please inform the Project Manager, Theodore Michaels, at FTS 492-8251, of your findings as soon as possible to facilitate termination of the VPI license.
