CONFIRMATORY ACTION LETTER AUS 271986 Docket No.72-001 General Electric Company ATTN: Mr. J. E. Van Hoomissen Manager, Spent Fuel Services Operation 310 De Guigne Drive Post Office Box 508 Sunnyvale, CA 94086 Gentlemen:
This refers to the telephone conversation on August 27, 1986, in which Mr. T. E. Ingels of your staff and Messrs. L. R. Greger and G. M. France, III of this office discussed the high levels of removable contamination measured on the surface of IF-300 casks arriving at Nebraska Public Power District on July 29 and August 19, 1986.
It is our understanding that you will not release the IF-300 casks from your Morris Operations facility until measures have been taken, acceptable to this office, that will ensure contamination levels during transit do not exceed 00T limits.
If our understanding of this matter is incorrect, please inanediately contact Mr. Greger (312-790-5644) or Mr. France (312-790-5786).
