JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE SUlHARY OF OPERATIONS December, 1986 The Cycle VII - VIII refueling outage continued into the wanth of December. At-the beginning of the month, the reactor was critical and physics testing was in progress. Power operation began at 0309 en December 2.
The generator was taken off line on December 3 to perform th 3 turbine overspeed trip test. The unit returned to power operation on Decsber 4.
The following major safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of December:
1.
FCV-122, which controls charging flow, was overhauled.
2.
The nuclear instruments were recalibrated based on data obtained during the initial power ascension.
3.
4160V breaker puffer tube design changes were completed.
- 4. ' Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was performed on diesel generators.
