PRIMARY TESTS

1) Set up as Fig. 1 A) Input: Open-circuited

. Output change to te recorded with meter and scope connected across 5000 Ohm load.

. Power sapply disturbance to be recorded with meter and scope connected acrosa power terminal. Limits to be achieved: power supply voltage must remain within the safe working range 115Vac 220%.

B) Input: Short-Circuited a) Terminal 1 to Chassis Ground b) Terminal 2 to Chassis Ground I c) Terminal 1 to Terminal 2

. Output and power supply changes to be recorded as in 1 (A) for each test.

C) 115Vac 9 20 Amp Applied to Input Terminals a) Terminal 1 to voltage supply, remaining lead of voltage supply to chassis ground.

b) Terminal 2 to voltage supply, remaining lead of voltage supply to chassis ground.

c) Terminal 1 to voltage supply, Terminal 2 to remaining lead of voltage supply.

While performing above tests, connect an RiS Transient Recorder as shown on next page to record effect of applying test voltage. Plot wave forms from test and note physical condition of unit.

SECONDARY TESTS

2) Set up as Fig. 1 A) Output: Open-circuited ,

I

. Input change to be recorded with meter and scope across input terminals.

. Power supply change to be recorded with meter and scope across power terminals.

B) Output: Short-circuited a) Terminal 5 to Chassis Ground b) Terminal 6 to Chassis Ground c) Terminal 5 to Terminal 6

. Monitor as 2 (A) above C) 115Vac 0 20 Amp Applied to Output Terminals a) Terminal 5 to voltage supply, remaining lead of voltage supply to chassis ground. .

l b) Terminal 6 to voltage supply, remaining lead of I

voltage supply to chassis ground. ,

i c) Terminal 5 to voltage supply, Terminal 6 to remaining lead of voltage supply.

. Monitor as in 1 (C) during above tests Please note, these tests will only indicate typical results of failure.

We cannot guarantee every unit will fail in the same manner.

Also note that Test (C) in both primary and secondary tests are destructive tests. Different unita must be used for each test.
