,o Transportation Certification Branch Approval Record Model No. WS Uranyl Nitrate Tank Trailer Packaging Docket No. 71-9068 By application dated August 6,1986, Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. requested renewal and amendment of Certificate of Compliance No. 9068.
The applicant has requested that the certificate of compliance be amended to incorporate a change in Section 8.2, Maintenance, requiring the hydrostatic pressure test be performed in accordance with 49 CFR $178.343-7 (Spec. MC-132).
This change provides additional guidance in the performance of the hydrostatic pressure test and is an acceptable revision to the Maintenance Program, Section 8.2.
It is noted that the application (March 27,1981) states that the tank trailer meets or exceeds the requirements of D0T Specification MC-312 (49 CFR $178.343-7 ).
The application also states that the tank trailer

meets or exceeds the design criteria of DOT Specification MC-312.
Accordingly, the reference to 00T Specifications MC-310 and MC-311 have been deleted from Condition 5.(a)(3) of the certificate of compliance.
It is also noted that D0T Specifications MC-310 and MC-311 are not cited in the current issue of 49 CFR $178.
The staff concludes that the statements of the application of March 27, 1981, as supplemented, satisfy the requirement for renewal of the certificate of compliance.
