Fuel removal continued at a normal rate, a canister per day, using the spade bucket tcol.
1 Installation of the Airlift Defueling Systca began the latter portion of the week. Operations using this system are expected to l
begin during the week of January 25.

EtiVIRONMENTAL lt0NITORItiG US Environnental Protection Agency (EPA) sample analysis results show that Tiil site liquid effluents are in accordance with regulatory limits NRC requirenants, and the City of Lancaster

Tl!I water effluents are sampled fron the station (Units 1 and 2) discharge and analyzed by EPA. Gama spectrum analyses of the seven M
daily composited samples for January 3 - 10, 1987 indicated no TMI-2

EPA's gama spectrua analysis of the NRC's THI outdoor air sanple for the period January 4 - 10, 1987 showed no reactor related 7

The Lancaster water works intake conposited seven daily sonples January 4 - 10, 1987. The gami spectrum analyzed by EPA showed no reactor related radioactivity.

AUXILIARY AND FUEL llA!!DLING BUILDING ACTIVITIES Preventive maintenance of the fuel shipping cask support ecuipmnt continued. Preparation and Icading of the cask is expectec to begin next week.
