DRAFT GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA FOR LARGE DRY PWRS In your memo of February 12, 1987 you requested comments on the draft relating to the subject prepared by BNL under FIN A-3828 (Technical Report A-3828, 12_15-86). We have the following comments:
- 1) The draft does not reflect any analyses of the benefits and costs of any of the proposals. As a result, it is not clear whether all the proposals are clearly justified for any or all large drys.
- 2) In view of the fact that the results of NUREG-1150 have been made available, it is not clear whether the bases used by BNL are acceptable.
- 3) It would seem appropriate that the directors of the two PWR vendor divisions in NRR be requested to comment.
