Dear Rose,

Attached please find an NRC License Application requesting the temporary storage of the approximate 0.4 microcuries of plutonium 238/239 (1:1). As you know, I have completely exhausted all means of effective disposal /
transfer of the radioisotope. My only recourse is to keep the materials in storage until such time that proper disposition can be determined.
I have discusnd the licensing fee for the application for a storage license with Ms. Glenda Jackson in Washington, D.C.
She agrees that no license fee needs to be submitted by the College. The rationale for this decision related to the fact that the plutonium isotope was authorized for possession and use under NRC by-product materials license #22-023475-20 (expired) for education (teaching and training of students). Also should the College re-apply for a NRC license in the future, the isotope in question be again included in a license for education.
Please accept my apologies for all the delays and inconveniences the 0.4 microcuries of plutonium have caused us.
Sincerely, Oscar Horner Chairman Division of Natural Science and Mathematics R E.C El V O License Fee information i
