TOLEDO EDISON Docket No. 50-346 JOE WILUAMS. JR s~ va v..m m

[419]249 2300 License No. NPF-3 st ai na sa2a Serial No. 1-697 December 29, 1986 Mr. James M. Taylor, Director Office of Inspection and Enforcement United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission 4350 East West Highway Bethesda, MD 20014

Dear Mr. Taylor:

This letter is to update you on the status of bus driver training for school districts that would be requested to provide bus transportation support inside the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) in the unlikely event of an emergency at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. U::h the exception of some make-up training sessions that will be scheduled for the third week of January 1987, all bus driver training is complete.

I have attached a summary of dates by school district of when the orientation session and regulatory training sessions were completed.

I also indicated the number of bus drivers trained and a breakdown of how the training was critiqued by the bus drivers.

Also, training is being completed for school teachers. On December 10, 1986, 164 Benton-Carroll-Salem and St. Boniface teachers and teacher aides were trained. On December 17, 1986, 118 Port Clinton City School District teachers were trained.

If you have any questions regarding school / bus driver training, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Very truly yours.
