The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on the status of TVA's efforts to correct problems at their nuclear power plants and on the staff's review of the TVA efforts.

The staff also briefly discussed their efforts at identifying lessons learned for the NRC in order to improve the regulatory program in the future.

The Commission and staff agreed that an additional meeting to discuss lessons learned will be scheduled in the future.

Chairman Zech emphasized to the staff the need to adequately review TVA's final reports and for the NRC staff to take the time they need in doing their reviews of TVA.
