Precise inelastic response spectra may be developed for various duc-tility factors for any specific defined t1me history accelerat1on ex-citation.

A computer program was developed and verified for gener-otton of such ductile response spectra.

-Fermi facility time history information exists describing the response of various structure locations to site specific earthquake excitation (3).

Ductile response spectra were generated using the Fermi specific time history acceleration records at elevation 659' - 6".

The resuit-ing spectra were in general conformance with those obtained by direct

=pectral modification techniques.

These spectra are illustrated in Figures 4 and 5.

Figure 6 presents envelope horizontal spectra for various ductility factors.

It is observed that once ductility is mobilized, effective design ac-celerations do not exceed the elastic zero period acceleration threshold.
