This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. Richard Correia, K. C. Leu, and V. Wenczel of this office on December 1-5, 1986, of your facility in Chicago, Illinois and to the discussions of our findings with Mr. H. S. Taylor and members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The purpose of this inspection was to review the status cf previous inspection findings and to review Sargent and Lundy's activities related to the dedication of commercial grade items and the receipt and evaluation of deficiencies poten-tially reportable under 10 CFR Part 21.
During the inspection it was found that all of the open items from previous inspection findings were resolved and thus are considered closed. The Sargent and Lundy policy and procedure for the receipt and evaluation of deficiencies potentially reportable under 10 CFR 21 met the specific NRC requirements out-lined in 10 CFR Part 21. An overview ard review of Sargent and Lundy's dedication of ccmmercial grade items was perforwed and examples evaluated.
There were no instances found in which NRC requirements were not met within l
the scope of the inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this l
letter and the enclosed report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
