Dear Mr. Denton:
The Plant Vogtle communication system is designed to provide reliable intraplant communications under both normal and accident conditions. The VEGP SER Confirmatory Item 33 requires that noise level surveys be accomplished and effective communications demonstrated, as described in the FSAR, from all systems under maximum noise levels. VEGP will perform these surveys and demonstrate effective communications during both the preoperational and startup test phases.
It is necessary to carry this test program through to the startup phase in order to ensure that maximum noise levels are achieved.
As such, the completion of the required surveys will not be accomplished until after low power testing.
