Initial Response to NRC Generic Letter 97-04 Gentlemen:
The reference requests addressees to submit information necessary to confirm the adequacy of the net positive suction head (NPSH) available for emergency core cooling.
This information is to be supplied within 90 days from the date of the generic letter.
A response was requested within 30 days to indicate whether the information would be submitted and whether the information would be submitted within the requested time frame (90 days).
This letter provides the requested 30 day response for the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC).
WCNOC is currently evaluating the reference as it applies to Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS), and has initiated a review of information to address the requests made in the reference.
WCNOC currently inter.is te submit the requested information within 90 days of the date of the generic letter (January 5, 1998).
