1 am responding to your letter of June 1,1999, requesting partial financial support from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for a project entitled " Disposition cf High-Level Radioactive Waste Through Geological isolation: Development, Current Status, and Tec'oical and Policy Challenges." The NRC would like to support your project with a contribution of
