TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REQUEST - STANDARD REVIEW PLAN FOR GASEOUS DIFFUSION PLANT FACILITIES The FCSS Special Projects Branch requests technical assistance in reviewing the following project:
Project: Standard Review Plan (SRP) for Gaseous Diffusion Plant Facilities RITS No:- 212AB Requested Action:
A draft SRP is being developed as a basis for reviewing the Safety Analysis Report Updates
- (SARUP) for the Paducah and Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plants and their re-certification. We would like your staff to review the draft Section 10, " Chemical Safety,"
for completeness and accuracy against 10 CFR 76 and oxisting and draft NUREGs pertinent to the subject matter._ in addition, we would like your staff to develop a draft Section -
13.1, " Material Control and Accounting," from existing and draft NUREGs that would provide a reviewer enough guidance to properly review an FNMCP to ensure it meets the l
requirements of 10 CFR 74 for a Low Enrichment Facility. Please provide your input by November 17,1997. Any questions should be directed to Charlie Cox, of my staff.
